Hey Everyone ...
We've been online for a while now and feel so welcomed by everyone. I've been pretty lazy about posting intros I thought it was about time.
Not sure if we are the oldest here in the group ... I guess we will find that out as we get to know everyone. I'm Denise and Gobbit is Duane. I said I was 49 when I registered but I think I'm supposed to be 50 this year .. MEH ... I'll just stick to 49 thank you. Duane is going to be 49 this year. I have 3 girls - Cristy:24, Sandy:24 and Sheri:27. Sheri just got married last month and now we are heavy into planning Cristy's wedding that will be in August this year. Maybe we will be grandparents in the next few years. OH NO ... how am I going to play online when I'm babysitting!
As of a year ago the last of the girls moved out and we have adapted quite nicely to a quiet house! Well except for the poodle puppy (just now a year old) ... and no we didn't get her because of empty nest syndrome ... bah. She needed a home ... she was really really cute when she was little ... and I'm not allergic to poodle hair. Now that she's a year old I'm hoping she loose interest in chewing up our shoes... and papers ... and rocks ... and everything else she can get her chompers on!
After many years of being single both of us decided that there are no decent people out there worth marrying and we both felt we would be single for life ... we messed that up by meeting each other! It's a amazing how much we are alike and how pathetically perfect we are for each other. We have blended our lives toghether quite well. I can't imagine a life without him even for a minute. okay okay ... enough with the mushy stuff. So we have been married for 9 years now and blissfully still playing games online together.
We started with UO, EQ1, AC1, AC2, Horizons, DAOC, WoW, EQ2, a number of unmentionable games .... beta tested D&D Online (not worth purchasing) beta tested LOTR online ... also not worth purchasing but only because Vanguard was coming out.
Duane works in an animal medical lab ooohhing and ahhhing over microscope slides ... but I'm sure that all comes from the damaged braincells from being a nuke in the Navy. You'll have to get the rest of the scary details from him.
I'm a VP for a Credit Union and wear multiple hats (as they say) ... my degree was in accounting so I oversee all the Accounting ... my work history was in Operations so I oversee all that too ... 15 years ago I showed the boss how to cold boot his PC and that's when I got the responsibility of all the I.S. dept. My work keeps me pretty stressed out with so many management decisions I so look forward to coming home to killing stuff online! If crafting feels too much like my day job then I tend to not craft. I don't need the challenge. I love the get away from it all by just logging on and smashing stuff.
We live north of the Seattle area and hope to retire some day ... well we can have hopes and dreams right?
